The National Diploma (ND) is a qualification conferred by polytechnics upon the completion of a two-year academic and practical programme. Possession of the ND enables graduates to seek employment in relevant fields or pursue further studies by enrolling in a Higher National Diploma (HND) programme. Additionally, ND holders may be eligible for Direct Entry admission into the second year (200 level) of a university degree programme.
Admission into an ND programme requires candidates to obtain the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) form and participate in the institution’s post-UTME or admission screening exercise. Successful candidates are subsequently offered admission into the first year (ND 1) of their selected course by both JAMB and the admitting institution.
Applicants are required to have 5 O-level Credits including; English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science at not more than two sittings.
